The Liberty Hill Police Department on Thursday identified the officer involved in a deadly shooting that left one man dead Wednesday, according to a news release from LHPD.
Officer Esteban Gomez-Sanchez responded to 750 Ranch Road 1869 at approximately 3 p.m. to assist the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office with a priority call, the news release said.
DPS said the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department got a call around 3 p.m. about the man, who was later identified as 21-year-old Jackson Lieber, trespassing on the property.

According to DPS Sgt. Deon Cockrell, the man had been in a crash and wandered onto a property where he got into a fight with the people who lived there.
According to DPS, an “altercation” then broke out between the officer and the man, and the officer shot him.
The investigation is ongoing with the WCSO, with the Texas Rangers assisting.
Previously, WCSO said heavy police presence in Liberty Hill Wednesday shut down certain intersections shortly after 4 p.m., according to a tweet from WCSO.
